Dear friends of Gashora, it is hard to believe that the market season has already started. We connected with new people at AfriCa Fest, trained some of our new volunteers and showcased our new cotton happy pants with great success.
Below are the date of the Markets that we have registered for and we are looking forward to seeing you here or there. If you would like to help out with any of these events, please let me know. The more volunteers we have the more, we can participate in. Even just one single shift a year helps us out tremendously. Come with a friend and have fun meeting like-minded people.

Life in Gashora is going well. Early this spring a large group of visitors from the US went to Gashora and helped with the renovations on a few adobe brick houses.
They enjoyed staying at the brand new guesthouse by the lake. The visitors included a dermatologist who treated many children for a variety of skin problems and a carpentry teacher who has been visiting Gashora in previous years and works with our young carpenter team.
Look at that view and hear the birds...

The sewing team is hard at work to get our order of happy pants completed! For photos of our new texiles for sale please click here.

The weavers are finishing off our order of 100 small bowls.

The construction of the new multipurpose workshop will soon begin. We are looking forward to work with the team to complete the interior work on our return to Rwanda. The arts program continues to thrive. Art therapy is an important component of trauma healing.

Look at this delivery of mattresses.

Derrick is settling in well to his new life in Chicago. He is working hard, especially to improve his written English skills. Term exams are just around the corner and "things are getting real. ". He is volunteering at the school ministry office and will be working full time on campus during the summer break. His visa unfortunately does not allow him to work off campus just yet.
During the winter break Derrick gave many talks at a variety of schools about Journey House Actions and its many programs, as well as sharing his personal story. He particularly enjoys chatting with younger students.

Our wonderful team of Miracle Workers are committed to helping out in the community and deserve the odd treat. Abdoul, their team leader, chose clothing for this round of rewards.

All the other programs, as well as the farm, are continuing to thrive and our animal count is growing in leaps and bounds. ( 300 + pigs, 65 cows ) A pilot project for the piggery is underway, under the leadership of Abdoul and Evode, to determine possible avenues for marketing our pigs.

Thank you all for your continued love and interest. It always amazes me to see and hear about all the changes, expansions and improvements that are being made, how an idea or a dream develops into a successful program under the leadership of all our caring workers and volunteers. None of this would be possible without your ongoing support. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
